Community Environment Days were introduced in 1991 to encourage Toronto residents to divert their unwanted household items and household hazardous waste from landfill. Since then, CEDs have successfully diverted hundreds of thousands of tonnes of material from landfill. In 2023, we helped divert over 400,000 kgs of material from landfills, including:
- 80,175 kg of electronics
- 65,457 of Salvation Army donations
- 307,510 kg of household hazardous waste
