I received an Eviction notice from my landlord, do I have to move?
All elections covered under the law in Ontario have something called “security of tenure”. This means that they can stay in their unit forever, until they are given verbal or written notice to move or the landlord gets a legal eviction order at the Landlord and Tenant Board
Step 1: Your landlord needs a Valid Reason to evict you.
Valid Reasons:

Step 2: Legal Notice

How do I apply for affordable housing?
Affordable housing provides lower than average market rents, helping to make living in Toronto become more affordable. The City works with housing developers to create new affordable housing in purpose-built rental developments.
When new affordable housing rental homes are available the housing provider opens an expression of interest period. During this time, individuals can apply. How do I apply for subsidized housing?
Applying for subsided housing may be a complicated process as there are many several different housing initiatives with different eligibility criteria. It is important to note that most subsidized housing units in Toronto are managed through the Rent-Geared-to-Income (RGI) subsidy.
The City of Toronto Rent-Geared-to-Income (RGI) Subsidy is a program to help make rent affordable for tenants by adjusting rent to the households monthly Adjusted Family Net Income.
