Today marks the start of Black History month. By coming together to celebrate Black histories, voices, contributions, and experiences, we can help make an inclusive, vibrant city where everyone belongs.
This year’s theme is Black Excellence: a Heritage to Celebrate, a Future to Build.
We have a lot more work to do to build systemic inclusion of Black Canadians. City Council is committed to doing this work through Toronto’s Action Plan to Confront Anti-Black Racism. Let’s keep working together to build a city where we all thrive.
Check out events in our ward of Spadina-Fort York and across the city for opportunities to explore, learn, reflect, and celebrate Black history and futures.
