The Islands are one of Toronto’s favourite places to be on summer weekends! This weekend, with great weather and the beloved Dragon Boat festival, we are expecting it to be very busy.
With two of our ferries under repair, our three vessels will be running at full capacity this weekend. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been working with City staff and the Mayor’s Office to adapt schedules, install tents to provide cover from sun and rain, make sure there moer staff on site, and improve information and signage.
With that in mind, some tips for planning your trip to Toronto Island Park this weekend:
- Buy your tickets online at toronto.ca/ferries.
- Travel at non-peak times, by arriving at the ferry terminal before 10 a.m. and leaving the Island by 4 p.m.
- If you are concerned about waiting, consider all options for water travel, including taking a water taxi to and from the Island
- Be patient and kind!
