Any significant decisions on the future of downtown Toronto, our waterfront, and the Island Airport have to be made with Torontonians, and done openly through a transparent process.

That’s consistent with how the City and the Federal Government have successfully worked together for decades to make decisions on this important site. In this term, City Council approved extending the airport’s mandate to comply with federal safety requirements and committed to a Master Plan process - a public and thorough conversation about the future of the airport from a shared vision, not pronouncements made on the fly.
As the local City Councillor for the central waterfront I firmly believe that we must build a city and waterfront where people can live, work, learn and play.
Discussion of changes to the Island Airport of any kind must align with the City's vision for a vibrant, livable, and sustainable waterfront that includes housing, economic development, public realm and recreation, and transportation.
