Major improvements to TCHC buildings in CityPlace. There is more work to do.
My office has been working with residents and City staff to address ongoing concerns with accessing necessary housing supports and resources at TCHC buildings in CityPlace including 150 Dan Leckie Way, 125 Queens Wharf & 146 Fort York Boulevard.
We've heard from residents and the community members about the need for proper communication channels and more responsiveness from TCHC staff, especially in emergencies. I'm committed to ensuring your needs are heard and that solutions are in place to support a safe, vibrant and healthy neighbourhood.
Last year, my office organized a townhall with TCHC to discuss concerns tenants have had about ongoing issues in the building. Issues discussed included elevators, maintenance, communication, and safety. Since then, we have made progress on:
On Sunday, July 26, at 2 PM at 150 Dan Leckie, we hosted a fun summer social afternoon with free treats, activities, and TCHC staff onsite to answer questions about the progress on work in the building.

What a spectacular journey the World Cup 2026 has been! Toronto truly shone on the world stage, from six thrilling matches, and the energy at Fan Festival, to our incredible community celebrations in every part of the downtown. And while the games may be done, there is still so much fun to be had in our downtown communities this summer.
Summer brings more people and activity to our downtown communities. With more people out and about, I’ve had many conversations about road safety and making sure we can all enjoy our neighbourhoods and get to where we need to go.
This morning, I announced the first-ever library branch on Toronto’s waterfront at Quayside! This was only made possible through incredible partnership between my office, City of Toronto staff, the Toronto Public Library, Waterfront Toronto, and the development partners, including $9 million in funds that I am proud to have allocated from our legacy community benefits tool, section 37, to make this opportunity a reality.
